Sampotalo, Turku

At a highly prominent spot downtown Turku, a new improved version of a protected 1930s’ elite building will be completed as a result of a thorough renovation of the Sampotalo building. Noste.io serves as the project management consultant in the project in which the central location and old structures to offer interesting surprises will bring the desired challenge to the assignment. The property includes retail and office spaces of which all necessary parts are renewed with due respect to the spirit of the protected property.

The project in question breaks new ground for Noste.io’s operations. Nevertheless, the company had an open mind and submitted their bid on this fascinating property in Turku, according to Project Manager Teemu Alastalo of Noste. Sampotalo’s Property Manager Anne Linsuri from Colliers says that the enthusiasm and motivation that Noste.io showed towards the project could be seen right from the beginning, and Noste.io was awarded the contract on project management consulting for the renovation of the Sampotalo building. Although the coronavirus caused challenges and prevented some site visits, Linsuri praises Noste.io’s ability to provide total control over the project and its costs, including clear reporting throughout the project.

The property is owned by the investment company Schroderus plc, and the City of Turku will continue as the tenant in the office spaces. The parties want to develop the property according to green values, which is why the BREEAM Excellent certificate will be applied for it. The renovation will be finished in spring 2023, when the tenants will get a modernised building to still remain true to the tradition, where the tenants’ wishes and environmental requirements will be also fulfilled.
