From office to care facility in two years

Noste.io was involved from the very beginning in the Paciuksenkatu 27 project, where an office property owned by Schroders Capital was converted into a care home on an exceptionally fast schedule.

The project began with a feasibility study to assess whether the conversion from office to care use was possible—and it was. The building’s size and layout enabled an efficient transformation without significant structural modifications.

“We led the project from the outset, taking into account the client’s needs and the project’s specific requirements, which contributed to efficient execution,” says Teemu Alastalo, Project Director at Noste.io.

The zoning exemption required for the conversion was obtained within a year, even though converting office space into a care facility was new to the authorities as well. Efficient execution was also supported by engaging the contractor early through a development agreement.

The property now houses Mehiläinen’s Mainiokoti and Onnikoti, which provide housing services for the elderly and people with disabilities. The first residents moved into the modern and bright facilities in March 2026.
